Sarasota Senior Advisor is a privately run referral and guidance service for older adults and their families in Sarasota and Manatee counties; it has no connection to AHCA, the Office of Insurance Regulation, Florida Medicaid, either Area Agency on Aging or any care provider, and it owns no facilities.
The public half of our work is this website: Florida's rules, payment programs and facility records, laid out so you can check each claim against the statute, rule or agency page cited beside it. The private half is a conversation with an advisor who listens to what your parent needs and suggests licensed places worth touring.
Who pays Sarasota Senior Advisor, and why does that matter?
Facilities that work with referral services pay us a fee after a family we introduced moves in; families pay nothing, before or after.
Any referral business has a built-in tilt toward the facilities that pay it, and we would rather name it than hide it. The directory lists every active license in the two counties whether or not the facility has ever paid anyone. If a recommendation does not come with reasons you can verify on the state record, ask for them.
What does the directory include, and what does it leave out?
It includes every active AHCA license of the senior care types we cover in the two counties, with the state's own dates, beds, specialty licenses, inspection histories and sanctions, CMS ratings for nursing homes, and OIR's list of life plan communities.
It leaves out online reviews, ratings of our own invention, aggregator listings and facility advertising. When a number families ask for has never been published, such as a Sarasota-only price or a memory care median, the page says so.

Sarasota and Manatee counties: Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice, North Port, Lakewood Ranch, Palmetto, Englewood (Sarasota County side), Longboat Key, Osprey, Nokomis, Parrish, Ellenton and Anna Maria Island.
Charlotte and DeSoto county facilities follow the same Florida rules but are outside our directory.
